U.S. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, was captured on video being heckled and booed at
Los Angeles International Airport Sunday.

Dozens of travelers crowded the senator in a packed terminal and started
hurling indiscernible insults at him before a consistent “Free the
children” chant arose from the crowd — an apparent reference to the Trump
administration’s policy of detaining young asylum seekers at the southern
border.

In the 45-second video, posted on Twitter, Cruz, dressed casually in khaki
shorts and a colorful shirt, appears to smile as the lively crowd becomes
more animated, before taking a photograph with a woman.

The video has been viewed more than 400,000 times.

It’s not the first time the Cruz has been criticized in an airport. Last
year, he was confronted by two women
