[Vision2020] Column: Sterling Brown, police brutality and the NFL's cowardly bow to faux patriotism

What happened to Brown matters — a lot. It’s not an indictment of America’s many brave and upstanding police officers to call out the few whose behavior is abhorrent. And as badly as Brown was treated by police, he was lucky compared with some unarmed black men who have been killed.

While the NFL was caving to political pressure from alleged patriots, the Bucks organization released a strong statement after video of Brown’s arrest was made public Wednesday:

“Unfortunately, this isn't an isolated case. It shouldn’t require an incident involving a professional athlete to draw attention to the fact that vulnerable people in our communities have experienced similar, and even worse, treatment.
