> August 14, 2018 (Moscow, Idaho) — In the early morning hours of August 14, 2018, the Moscow Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire in the 900 block of Palouse River Drive. Upon arrival of the first units, heavy fire from one mobile home was noticed and was spreading to the two adjacent homes. Firefighting crews quickly controlled the fire and began to conduct an overhaul of the structures. All homes were unoccupied at the time of the fire.
>
> Responding units to the incident included Moscow Volunteer Fire Department (MFVD), Moscow Volunteer Ambulance Company, Moscow Police Department (MPD), Whitman District 12 Fire Department and Avista Utilities.
>
> The fire caused extensive damage to the original mobile home and significant to light damage to the adjacent homes. The investigation team, including the MFVD and MPD is surveying the entire area to determine the cause of the fire which is considered suspicious. A previous fire, which occurred on August 10, 2018 at approximately 10 a.m., also in the 900 Block of Palouse River Drive, is also being considered by the investigation team. Additionally, on August 2, 2018 a small wild land fire occurred in the area of the 900 block of Palouse River Drive and is unknown at this time if that incident is related or unrelated to the recent fires in the area. Investigations are active and ongoing in these incidents.
