The Moscow Human Rights Commission and the Latah County Human Rights Task Force is sponsoring events for Racial Equality and Inclusive Community Month. The theme of the events is Refugees. All events are free.

"After Spring" 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 6 Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre

A feature documentary that focuses on the Syrian refugee crisis
With the Syrian conflict now in its seventh year, millions of people continue to be displaced. After Spring is the story of what happens next. By following two refugee families in transition and aid workers fighting to keep the camp running, viewers will experience what it is like to live in Zaatari, the largest camp for Syrian refugees. Executive Produced by Jon Stewart.
Please bring blankets, kitchen or cleaning supplies to help refugees resettle, all donations will go to the Spokane Refugee Center

"Refugee Voices" Thursday September 14th 7:00-8:30 pm Fiske Room 1912 Center, Moscow

Join us for a panel discussion of the refugee experience in the Fiske Room of the 1912 Center. Panelists: Hervé Mashindola, Sargon Hamad, and Gulmako Qayoun. Moderator: Elizabeth Siler, WSU Department of English. 

"Refugee Resettlement: Policies and Issues"
Thursday September 21st 7:00-8:30 pm Great Room 1912 Center, Moscow

Join us for a discussion of refugee resettlement issues and policies. Our speaker is Slobodanka Hodzic, Program Director of the Agency for New Americans in Boise.

"Human Rights Day at the Market: Refugees and Human Rights"
Saturday, September 30 8am to 1pm near Friendship Square in front of Moscow Hotel

The Latah County Human Rights Task Force annual event since 1989. Displays, hand-outs and activities for children.

"Racial Equality and Inclusive Communities Potluck Dinner" Saturday September 30th 7:00-9:00 pm Great Room 1912 Center

 Join us for the conclusion of Racial Equality and Inclusive Communities Month for a city potluck dinner. Bring your favorite dish to share, or just bring yourself. All are welcome. Please label you dish and to be as inclusive as possible please no pork dishes. Also, try to avoid nut dishes due to possible allergies.
