2 shot after group surrounds car outside Pullman party near WSU

PULLMAN, Wash. - Update: Pullman Police have released more information about a shooting that happened early Sunday morning near the Washington State University campus.

Pullman police officers heard two gunshots as they were responding to a noise complaint in the 1000 block of Duncan Lane. When officers arrived on Duncan Lane, they found numerous people running in all directions. Officers found two teenage victims with gunshot wounds. Police say a 19-year-old man was wounded in his right torso and a 17-year-old male was wounded in his arm. Both victims were taken to Pullman Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 19-year-old was later released from the hospital.

Investigators discovered that a group of people attending a party in the area surrounded a car trying to leave the area. The group was trying to remove someone from the car when shots were fired from the vehicle, striking both victims. The crowd scattered and the car took off before officers arrived.

The weapon is believed to be a handgun and has not been recovered. Both victims are from the King County area of Washington and are not students at WSU. Detectives are following up on leads.
