Labrador sets town hall meetings
1st Congressional District representative to be in Lewiston and Coeur d'Alene next week

Republican Idaho Congressman Raul Labrador will hold town hall meetings in Lewiston and Coeur d'Alene next week, giving constituents in the northern part of his district an opportunity to grill him on activities in Congress.

Labrador, who was re-elected to a fourth term last November, has earned widespread praise for his willingness to engage with residents of the 1st Congressional District, which covers the northern and western half of the state.

More than 1,300 people attended two town hall meetings in Nampa and Meridian last week. By contrast, none of the other members of Idaho's congressional delegation has scheduled any town halls so far this year, although Sen. Mike Crapo did hold meetings in every incorporated town in the state prior to his re-election last year.

Across the border in Washington, Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers has been holding closed meetings with various groups or individuals who reached out to her office. However, like Crapo, she hasn't held any public town halls since she was re-elected last year.

Labrador's Lewiston town hall meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. next Friday, in the Silverthorne Theater at the Lewis-Clark State College Administration Building. He'll then head north to Coeur d'Alene for a 6:30 p.m. town hall at Lake City High School, 6101 Ramsey Road.
