Kittens get a 2nd chance at Charleston's 1st cat cafe
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A few dozen lucky cat lovers got a sneak peek at Charleston's first Cat Cafe Saturday night.
Twenty-one kittens scampered around Pounce Cat Cafe, courtesy of the Charleston Animal Society.
A staff member told ABC News 4 the kittens were brought over from Myrtle Beach where they had been slated for euthanasia.
Instead, the friendly felines get to frolic around their new foster home on Meeting Street and wait for their fur-ever homes.
While initially looking in the Cannonborough/Elliotborough neighborhood, The owners of Pounce Cat Cafe found the purr-fect spot on Meeting Street where Holy City Vintage used to be.
The cafe is essentially a foster home where the cats live until they are adopted. Even when the cafe is closed, the kittens have free reign over their domain and are spared waiting for a new home in cages.
Pounce Cat Cafe is currently taking reservations. They open Friday, November 25. Reservations can be taken online at their website. The minimum age for visiting is 10 years old.
