A Washington State University professor died Wednesday after a two vehicle collision about 3 p.m. roughly four miles south of Cambridge, Idaho, on U.S. Highway 95.

According to information from the Idaho State Police, Kota Inoue, 51, of Moscow, was traveling southbound on Highway 95 in a 2005 Toyota Prius when he crossed the center line, sideswiping a 2001 Dodge pickup pulling a stock trailer driven by 19-year-old Cole Brown of Council, Idaho.

Brown was not injured.

Inoue, an assistant professor of Japanese, was transported to St. Luke’s Meridian Medical Center in Meridian, Idaho, where he died of his injuries.
