Kittens compete for a "purr-fect" ten in Olympics
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- Humans weren't the only ones going for gold tonight, kittens were scoring "purr-fect" tens right here in Madison.
The Kitten Olympics were hosted at West Towne Veterinary Center, and even included an opening ceremony where the American flag was raised by a groundhog.
The cats competed in events like soccer, badminton, balance beam, and tight rope walking.
Famous cat trainer Samantha Martin even joined in on the fun to demonstrate all the things cats are capable of.
Some would say the event was a "litter" bit amazing.
"People can come meet the kittens, see how brave, like that kitten that just did the tight rope- I mean it's incredible, and the bonus was having Samantha Martin," said Dr. Ken Lambrecht.
The event also raised money for the Dane County Friends of Ferals and Martin's nationwide rescue service.
Many of the kittens who competed are up for adoption, waiting to find a new "home team" of their own.
