PRESS RELEASE
Margaret Littlejohn Bench & Tree Dedication Ceremony

September 8, 2015 (Moscow, Idaho) - The City of Moscow Pathways Commission and Latah Trail Foundation are dedicating a purple ash tree and park bench as a memorial to honor Margaret Littlejohn, a longtime active and engaged citizen of Moscow and Latah County.

LIttlejohn chaired the Paradise Path Task Force for many years, and was instrumental in overseeing the Task Force as it was converted to a permanent, standing Commission of the City, now known as the City of Moscow Pathways Commission. Littlejohn's tireless work as a member of the Latah Trail Foundation and the Pathways Commission made the local pathway systems more pleasant, easier to utilize, and increasingly visible for all trail users - past, present, and future.

Littlejohn also served with the League of Women Voters, the Moscow Tree Committee, Phillips Farm Advisory Committee and Board, and the Health and Environment Commission. She recently received the City of Moscow Mayor's Service to Commissions award.

The memorial will be located alongside Paradise Path, behind Good Samaritan Village between F Street and Mountain View Park. The dedication ceremony will take place this Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Those attending may park at the end of F Street where it ends at Mountain View Park, or in the Mountain View Park parking lot. The dedication site is slightly closer to F Street, so those with mobility issues may want to park on F Street. Attendees are also encouraged to walk or bike to the site as well.
