October 7, 2015 (Moscow, Idaho) - Nominations for the 2015 Ismat Ara and Abdul Mannan Sheikh Community Unity Award are being accepted by the City of Moscow until Friday, October 16, 2015.

Every two years, the award is given to other Moscow citizens who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to community unity and who have a history of significant effort on behalf of diversity, inclusion and human rights in the Moscow area. All of the nominees must meet the following three requirements:

* Significant efforts on behalf of diversity, inclusion and human rights in the Moscow community.

* Outstanding commitment to community, public service and the City of Moscow.

The City of Moscow Human Rights Commission will review all nominees and forward recommendations to Mayor Bill Lambert.

Nominations should be in writing, no more than one page, explaining the nomination, and be sent to the Moscow Human Rights Commission, c/o Karen Potter, City of Moscow Police Department, P.O. Box 9203, Moscow or delivered by hand no later than 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 16. Submissions may also be sent by email to hrc at ci.moscow.id.us<mailto:hrc at ci.moscow.id.us>.
