PRESS RELEASE
The 100 Most Deadly Days of the Summer Travel

May 21, 2015 (Moscow, Idaho) - The 100 Most Deadly Days of the Summer travel season are coming upon us, the Moscow Police Department along with other Idaho agencies are partnering with ITD, NHTSA and agencies across the country in an effort to reduce the number of fatal and serious injury crashes through high visibility enforcement. From May 25, 2015 until Sept 7, 2015, the Moscow Police Department, through education and increased law enforcement presence hopes to reduce the number of impaired and aggressive drivers and increase the rate of seatbelt use within our jurisdiction. The first phase of this enhanced enforcement will be conducted between May 25, 2015 and June 30, 2015.

Within the city of Moscow and throughout the state of Idaho, enhanced enforcement patrols consistently result in:

*        Warrant arrests

*        DUI arrests

*        Drug arrests

*        Child safety seat violations

*        Suspended license citations

*        Uninsured motorist citations

The goal of this project is to support the statewide highway safety goal of reducing motor vehicle related deaths and serious injuries. Please buckle up and plan for a sober driver this Memorial Day holiday.
