One thing I learned during my twenty years in the Army . . .
"Don't tell me WHY I CAN'T. Explain to me HOW I CAN!"
Instead of burning the three Confederate battle flags, how about shredding them. Does anybody have access to a sizable shredder . . . like maybe Moscow Recycling?
Apparently, this is a concept totally foreign to this little corner of the world.
Seeya 'round town, Moscow, because . . .
"Moscow Cares" (the most fun you can have with your pants on)

>> Tom,
>>
>> Thank you for your email back. As you mentioned we are in the busy time of our year in the area and with the temperatures and dryness that we are currently experiencing we have extreme concerns for the possibility of a wildland or grass fires in the area. In addition as you might or might not be aware the City has a no burning policy with very few exceptions throughout the year and currently only allows open burning a two week period during the spring.
>>
>> At this time we are not allowing any open burning of any kind due to the conditions and the weather for any purposes. Once the conditions change any request is reviewed on a case by case basis.
>>
>> Sorry was unable to help you at this time but if I can be of any other assistance in the future please let me know.

Currently they are scheduled to arrive on Monday (June 29th). We are hoping for a date for the flag burning between July 6th and July 16th.
