Weekend, June 18-22: 8th Annual Idaho Botanical Foray, in the Selway River drainage, Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest. Follow the IBF Facebook page for more information: 2015 Idaho Botanical Foray. This event is held alternately in North Idaho and in South Idaho regions, primarily to collect for the Idaho herbariums. This year, early season flora of our northern Idaho disjunct temperate rainforest will be explored, to add to collections from this amazing ecosystem. More detailed information about camping and logistics will be available soon. Dr. David Tank, UI Stillinger Herbarium Director, is greatly involved in this endeavor. http://phylodiversity.net/dtank/Tank_Lab/Contact.html

Threat to our largest area of Palouse Prairie: The U.S. Highway 95 "Thorncreek to Moscow" route decision is expected soon. There is still time to contact Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), to voice your concerns about weed threats to the large and pristine tract of Palouse Prairie on Paradise Ridge that Alternative E-2 would cause. To view the formal letter that INPS sent ITD, summarizing the problem and requesting action to protect this area, contact sonjalewis.i.am at gmail.com. For additional information, contact sflint at uidaho.edu.
