Moscow Farmers Market – Activities for August 1st

July 27, 2015 (Moscow, Idaho) – Join us Saturday, August 1st for the Moscow Farmers Market on Main Street and in Friendship Square in Downtown Moscow! The Market runs from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. May through October and features live music, fresh local produce, delicious homemade baked goods, specialty food items, healthy nursery plants, beautiful flowers, and quality handmade crafts.

Music: Live music at Friendship Square will be provided by UI Preparatory Division Strings at 9:30 a.m. followed by Phoenix 99 Blues Band at 11:00 a.m.

Special Events: The Market will feature a tai chi warm up with the University of Idaho Confucius Institute from 8:00 to 8:30 a.m. near the playground equipment in Friendship Square. The University of Idaho Chess Club will be by the fountain in Friendship Square from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The Great Moscow Food Drive will be collecting donations of non-perishable food and household items from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. by the fountain in Friendship Square. The Food Drive will benefit the Moscow Food Bank and the Trinity Food Pantry. Donations of cash and checks will also be accepted, please make checks payable to the Latah County Human Rights Task Force. Alternate drop off locations include Moscow Safeway and Moscow Rosauers.

The City of Moscow High Five Passport Program will feature a kid’s cooking class from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. next to the City Tent (by the clock in Friendship Square).

Vendor of the Week: Pastries of the Nile from Moscow, ID. Product highlights include: Sweet and savory Egyptian style pastries and hot prepared food that uses Palouse grown lentils and garbanzo beans. Pastries of the Nile has been a vendor in the Moscow Farmers Market for 9 years.

Shop the Market: Area families can use EBT or SNAP benefits. Visit the Shop the Market booth at the City Tent, by the clock in Friendship Square, to receive “Market Money” which vendors will accept for approved purchases.


Please remember that no animals, except for ADA service dogs, are allowed at the Moscow Farmers Market.
