 North Latah County Highway District Closing Moscow Mountain Road/Rock Creek
Road over Moscow Mountain

 Moscow, Idaho - Beginning on July 7, 2015, the North Latah County Highway
District (NLCHD) will be closing the Moscow Mountain Road/Rock Creek Road
over Moscow Mountain due to Stage I Fire Restrictions in Latah County.
NLCHD was contacted by Bennett Lumber Products early Tuesday morning
informing the District that all Bennett Lumber lands would be closed to
public access due to high fire danger, and they requested that the gates on
Moscow Mountain Road/Rock Creek Road be closed as well to further mitigate
any hazardous situations.  Chairman Richard Hansen said that with the fire
danger at Stage I and approaching Stage II within the next week, and with
most large timber companies closing their lands in the next couple days,
closing the road would be an appropriate and prudent measure to help ensure
public safety.
