At minimum:
The items stolen in the petty theft should be return (that's already been done)The perpetrators should apologize, admit they were wrong, and claim they've learned a valuable lessonEveryone (including Tom) should move on to more pressing issues
This incident doesn't need to be turned into a federal case just because the perps were athletes or because the coach gets a decent salary. It'd be a completely different story if these folks were Christ Churchers since the whole 'thou shalt not steal' dogma would have been literally beaten into them from an early age.
