[Vision2020] Victims and Perpetrators

Good Morning Dr. Merkle,

I am writing to you, as head of your household, about the distressingly
anti-Semitic tone of your wife's recent contribution to Femina
<http://www.feminagirls.com/2015/08/01/victims-and-perpetrators/> , the blog
maintained by your mother-in-law, Nancy Wilson, your sister-in-law, Rachel
Jankovic, and your wife, Rebecca Merkle.  I do not know what Mrs. Merkle's
background or training in Holocaust studies might be but when I read her
statements "it was those Jewish leaders who forced their own people into
slave labor" and "The Jews of Poland were betrayed by their own" I can only
suppose that her education in that area is not only limited but deliberately
biased.  For example, your wife referenced "Rumkowski" (the Nazi appointed
manager of the Lodz ghetto) but somehow missed the irony that his first name
was Chaim which means, as you certainly know, "Life" in Hebrew.  

I say to you in truth, nothing and I mean nothing is more repellent than
half-assed, ignorant references and comparisons to the Holocaust.  Further,
as you should also know the anti-Semitic climate of Europe including Great
Britain was nourished and encouraged by the Christian leaders and church
members for almost two millennia. The ugly spirit and actions of those
miserable jackasses performed the centuries long discordant overture that
set the stage for the National Socialism party of post World War I Germany.
John Calvin, amongst the foundational theologians of your own sect, Christ
Church, offered the following comments of Judaism.

Their [the Jews] rotten and unbending stiffneckedness deserves that they be
oppressed unendingly and without measure or end and that they die in their
misery without the pity of anyone.

Are we to believe that you share this perspective because you are an
unabashed follower of John Calvin?  I encourage you to ask your wife to
apologize publically for her remarks and notify readers of her family blog
that none of the victims of Nazi or Christian, 
 persecution were or, are responsible, for their fate.
