I don't have a spiffy graphic to bring the message home, but I, too, just
returned from the Latah County Courthouse after voting through an in-person
absentee ballot.
I recommend this way of voting. No crowds after work on voting day, no
trying to remember which precinct you are in, no exit polls. If you have
to work late that day, you don't have to panic about getting there on
time. And you still get a nice sticker.
If you've never done it (oh, hapless reader), it's pretty simple. You go
down to room 101 in the courthouse and show an ID, they give you a ballot
with an outer envelope and an inner envelope. They have a couple of voter
booths right there. You fill out the ballot scantron-style, fold it, and
put it in the inner envelope. You then put the inner envelope in the outer
envelope, seal the outer envelope, and sign it. Then just give it back to
one of the nice people working behind the counter. Pretty simple and
hassle-free.
