Tom,
Obviously you don't comprehend that Scott agrees with you on the point that same-sex marriage should be recognized in Idaho.
While the polls shouldn't matter, I think changing attitudes have everything to do with getting to this point.

Mr. Dredge -
You read my comments, but you fail to comprehend what is said.
Perhaps I should have bolded, italicized, and underlined the significant portion thusly . . .
To deprive any two individuals of such a wonderful experience extends beyond ignorance.
Got it?

70+ percent in favor (or against) is moot. Rights guaranteed by the Constitution aren't subject to popular vote. Since Otter is running for office in one of the reddest if the red states, it might get him some votes to vow 'I will do everything in my power to ensure that marriage remains between one man and one woman'. It's akin to Obama saying he'll do everything in his power to ban assault weapons.

Congratulations. Same sex marriage ban don't deprive same sex couples from being in their same sex relationship. At issue is gender discrimination that denies equal rights, benefits, and protections that are afforded to married opposite sex couples. Such denial violates the 14th amendment equal protection and 5th amendment equal liberty which is why bans will ultimately be struck down nationwide.

Oops. I almost forgot . . .
Jus' like Raul Labrador during election year, Butch avoids cameras and microphones in October.
Let me repeat what I have said before . . .

Kennedy's having second

Supreme
Court Temporarily Blocks Gay Marriage In Idaho, Nevada

AM ET
Supreme
Court Justice Anthony
Kennedy has temporary
blocked Tuesday's appeals
court decision that struck down bans on same-sex marriage in Idaho and
Nevada.
Officials
in Idaho had filed a last-minute
appeal to the Supreme Court following Tuesday's appeals court decision. In
his order, Kennedy gave lawyers representing same-sex couples until 5 p.m.
Thursday to respond to the appeal.
"The
order means that gay and lesbian couples will not be able to obtain marriage
licenses in that state in the meantime," Lyle
Denniston of the SCOTUSblog notes.
The
Associated Press adds that the order also applies to Nevada.
As
we reported Tuesday, the appeals court ruling itself came a
day after the Supreme Court gave tacit approval to similar decisions by
three other circuit courts. The Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal of those
rulings, thereby making same-sex marriage legal in 11 states. Gay marriage is
now permitted in 30 U.S. states.
The
AP adds that the delay in Idaho and Nevada could last just a few days.
"The
full court almost certainly would weigh in to extend the delay much beyond the
weekend," the news service said. "That has been the justices' practice in other
cases in which a single justice initially blocked a ruling from taking
effect."
