Here is what an anti-military, anti-war Army private looked like at Fort Ord, California in August '69 just before I started 71B (clerk-typist) training. Hey, I avoided guns . . .so I initially enlisted to be a clerk, ok?

Twenty years later (on July 15, 1989) I retired as an E-7 (sergeant first class) platoon sergeant in an infantry line unit (Co D, 1st Bn, 15th Inf (Mech) - Harvey Barracks, Kitzingen, Germany).
I may have changed (considerably) over those twenty years, but I'm still . . .

I grew up ALOT my first couple years in uniform.
