[Vision2020] Well, so much for spring . . .

Spring has arrived:
When we have a basement full of new chicks! Little fluffballs which keep our dog enticed. He thinks they need guarding, and can't keep his big nose off the top of the pen. He usually stops when they get big enough to jump up at his nose....
When we have hundreds of seedlings popping up in flats, fresh spinache ready to harvest, and egg production has increased to twelve dozen per week!
Anyone need eggs? Will deliver in Moscow, $4 dozen (organic/pastured happy hens!). Blue, green, brown, pink---you don't even have to dye them for Easter!

Spring has definitely arrived when the beautiful clever Steller jays start their Spring songs on the Palouse, which occurred about a few weeks ago...They imitate other bird calls, so they can deceive easily, sometimes sounding like hawks, I think to scare other birds away from their territory. Information on this at website below:

"An excellent mimic with a large repertoire, the Steller's Jay can imitate birds, squirrels, cats, dogs, chickens, and some mechanical objects.:

Ah, Tom, Tom, Tom . . . there's so much more to Spring than just temps.
Spring has arrived when worms come out after a rain - check.
Spring has arrived when I hear frogs singing at night - check.
Spring has arrived when robins start announcing dusk, which they always do before they start announcing dusk and dawn - check.
Spring has arrived when my neighbors' cherry tree starts budding out - check.
Feel free to add more to the list J
