PRESS RELEASE
Downtown tree pest and weed control measures

March 14, 2014 (Moscow, Idaho) - The City of Moscow Parks and Recreation Department will be applying Quali-Pro Imidacloprid 75 WSB insecticide as a soil drench to certain trees in the downtown area to control aphids and scale. An application of Surflan will be made at the same time for weed control purposes.

Applications will be made in the early morning commencing on or around March 17, continuing through the week of March 28, depending on weather conditions. Trees to be treated will be marked with white flagging tape and areas marked with signs. The Quali-Pro Imidacloprid 75 WSB product is mixed with water for application directly to the soil around tree trunks, and the Surflan is sprayed on top of the same soil. There is no risk or danger to humans or pets after the application is dry, but it is recommended to keep children and pets away from the treated areas until they are dry.

Questions or concerns should be directed to Tom Grundin, Parks & Facilities Manager, at 208.883.7098.
