"A straw man, also known in the UK as an Aunt Sally, is a common type of argument and is an informal fallacy based on the misrepresentation of the original topic of argument. To be successful, a straw man argument requires that the audience be ignorant or uninformed of the original argument.
The so-called typical "attacking a straw man" implies an adversarial, polemic, or combative debate, and creates the illusion of having completely refuted or defeated an opponent's proposition by covertly replacing it with a different proposition (i.e., "stand up a straw man") and then to refute or defeat that false argument, ("knock down a straw man,") instead of the original proposition."
And when a student enters a classroom and places his (or her) pocket knife on his (or her) desk how are the other students in the classroom expected to react? Or a water bottle that might contain nitroglycerin? The legislature has spoken or don't you like the system of laws in the United States? The Fraternal Order of Police, and the Idaho Sheriff's Association have both backed this legislation or do you think that they don't know what they're talking about? Would you rather have an unelected state or city employee making the decision?

READ the actual legislation and see what it says. First of all, you have to have the enhanced permit or be a retired law enforcement officer. That means you're at least over 21 IF you have the permit. And there is 8 hours of training, and a specific range component to getting the permit. Don't you trust adults? And for all of the up roar over this issue, how many people are we actually talking about that are carrying, as opposed to a mythical number of how many could qualify to carry legally?

'nuff said
