Looks like the linchpin in your previous defense of Bergdahl is moot consider his promotions were automatic when he was missing. Shocker there. Now you're recommending if he's found to be guilty that 'he should be assigned permanent at Fort Leavenworth Disciplinary Barracks' whereas previously you wrote that this was a matter for the Army to decide.

Thank God you still have your credibility intact in this forum.

If Sergeant Bergdahl is guilty of desertion, he should be assigned permanent residence at Fort Leavenworth Disciplinary Barracks.

Sgt. Bergdahl May Be Investigated On Charges Of Desertion
BRUSSELS (AP) - U.S. Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey says the Army may still pursue an investigation that could lead to desertion charges against Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who was freed from five years of Taliban captivity in a prisoner exchange last weekend.

Dempsey also told The Associated Press in a telephone interview Tuesday that Bergdahl's next scheduled promotion is not automatic because he is no longer missing in action.

He noted that U.S. military leaders "have been accused of looking away from misconduct" and said "it's premature" to assume they would do so in Bergdahl's case, despite his five years as a Taliban detainee.

Bergdahl was handed over to U.S. Army special forces Saturday in exchange for the release of five detainees at the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba detention facility.

U.S. Joint Chiefs Chairman Martin Dempsey announced that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl may be investigated on charges of desertion. This follows allegations that Sgt. Bergdahl wandered off base shortly before he was captured by the Taliban.

Sgt. Bergdahl is being treated at a U.S. Base in Germany. It is not clear when we will be able to see his parents or return home to Idaho.
