Topic: Guide to identifying lichens in Idaho and surrounding areas
Presenter:  Dr. Larry Lass, author of the Lichens_USID guide at Discoverlife.org
Location:  1912 Center, Great Room, 412 E. 3rd St., Moscow, Idaho (between Adams and Van Buren)
Learn about local and regional lichens, and how to identify these unique organisms, utilizing Larry Lass’s many years of experience.  Larry will demonstrate how to use the interactive guide he has developed for the University of Georgia’s Discover Life project at http://www.discoverlife.org/mp/20q?guide=Lichens_USID   He will describe lichen morphology, chemical spot tests, and photography and collection methods.  Larry is also working on the Mosses of Idaho, an additional guide for Discover Life.
