Winter & Early Spring Schedule, White Pine-INPS, is taking shape
Thursday January 8, 7pm, 1912 Center, Great Room, Moscow, ID.  Pam Brunsfeld:  "Fun Facts about Plants." Pam is Manager and Curator of the University of Idaho Stillinger Herbarium's vascular collection, and teaches Systematic Botany at UI.  We've enjoyed Pam's field trips over the years, and her workshops on identifying penstemons. Her Jan. 8 program will kick off the year with a lighthearted yet educational approach to plants. Co-sponsors are Palouse Prairie Foundation and White Pine Chapter, Idaho Native Plant Society.
Thursday, evening of March 12, Gladish Community & Cultural Center, Pullman, WA.  Pamela Pavek will give a presentation on native pollinators.  Pamela is an agronomist with the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service, and explained native versus invasive roses to our group this past year.  Experience a preview of her pollinator knowledge at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkF3dCi0l08  The March 12th program is sponsored by Palouse Prairie Foundation and White Pine Chapter INPS.  Time and room name will be announced at a later date.
Tuesday, March 24, 7pm, 1912 Center, Great Room, Moscow, ID.  Dr. David Tank:  "Natural history collections in the 21st century: an update on activities in the Stillinger Herbarium and how you can get involved."  Dr. Tank is Associate Professor of biology and Director of the University of Idaho Stillinger Herbarium, and is also involved with the Consortium of Pacific Northwest Herbaria.  He investigates the patterns and processes that shape plant biodiversity, and will share how native plant enthusiasts can become involved with the Stillinger.
More details on these talks at a later date.
Happy holidays, and travel safely. May our actions help slow global climate change in 2015.
