[Vision2020] Proposal: Change Listserv Name

You are an adult, and you can decide if you want to respond or react. A response will require considered use of your frontal lobe, whereas a reaction can just be simple lashing out.

Of course the First Amendment isn't implicated here, as the state is not restricting anyone's freedom of speech. Rather it's a matter of people agreeing to make this a better place for everybody. If you really want to post everything you usually post, just combine your material into three posts. It's up to you.

I hope the many valuable contributors who have left will return. People who contributed intelligent conversation left because they got fed up of you. Last week you talked about looking in the mirror, and my response was less than mature. I apologize for it now.

Well, go look in that mirror and decide how you want to be, and how you want to participate, or whether you'd rather leave. Your choice.

Sunil

Nay.

I favor a return to the agreement, followed by most for many years, that we all limit ourselves to three posts a day. I usually follow that, though I'm sure I exceeded it yesterday.

The last time someone brought up the idea, Tom asked something like 'What are you going to do if someone goes over three posts? Use the delete button,' or words to that effect.

I'll also say I think Tom could post most of this stuff elsewhere. I routinely delete posts like 'Caturday' and the Farmer's Market pictures; I'm going there, I'm not interested in seeing pictures. But he also posts things I find interesting, so I end up looking at other posts and wishing I'd deleted them too...

That's two votes to the affirmative. (One former list member contacted me privately to vote). I'll run a tally and report back tomorrow.

Put me down for an enthusiastic and deeply heart felt aye. I hope you realize that this will put you on the no booby prize list with me and Paul.

I opened up my email this morning at 9am to 8 emails from Tom Hansen.
And the day is just getting started.
This made me curious. How much does Tom post? So I looked at yesterday: 7 emails. Thursday: 8 emails. I stopped there.

In light of this, I propose a name change. Instead of "Moscow Vision 2020" I propose "Hansen's Moscow 24/7."
All in favor?
