City of Moscow Hosts Pollinators, Plants & Wisecapes Seminar

April 24, 2014 (Moscow, Idaho) - The City of Moscow is hosting a seminar entitled Pollinators, Plants & Wisecapes on Tuesday, May 13 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the 1912 Center in Moscow, Idaho.  This event is free and open to the public.  Join the City learn more about local pollinators and water efficient landscaping.

Guest speakers will include:

Dr. Steve Sheppard, Washington State University & Department Chair, Entomology - Speaking about the basics of pollinators, general honeybee information, and plants that invite pollinators to the yards.

Pam Brunsfeld, Retired Manager & Curator, University of Idaho Stillinger Herbarium - Discussing and showing photos about plants that grow well in the area, how to start specific natives in a homeowners yard, what plants do well in region and are beautiful, and plants that invite wildlife or pollinators.

Paul Warnick, Horticulturist, University of Idaho Arboretum Garden - Will be providing a plant list. He'll be speaking for 20 minutes with a PowerPoint on Xeriscape gardens and how that might apply in a home garden setting.
