An online MBA from Blasé State might not actually be a bad idea considering football is so ingrained in our culture and the plethora of unscrupulous hiring managers in working world might be biased to go for a candidate with a degree from a school with a successful program rather than with one that is floundering.

The very first non-binding interview question I've always asked is 'whats the name of your college mascot'.  I've actually had two PHDs who weren't able to answer.  One time, when I said 'the correct answer for your alma mater is the Kansas State Cougars', the guy responded 'Oh I knew that, I just didn't understand the question'.  Good save on his part and I quickly decided against trying trip him up with an ad-libbed follow up question of 'Have you ever heard of Michael Bishop or Bill Snyder' because I felt it would be unprofessional on my part.
