[Vision2020] Say What?

Well hey Nick, I rather found Arbitrage quite entertaining , which is not to suggest it isn't also cheezy, and quite implausible. I like 2nd rate movies... I used to use Pauline Kale reviews in the New Yorker as my authoritative guide. If she panned a movie, I generally added the film to my 'go see' list.

I just watched another French movie on Netflix last night: "The Women on the 6th Floor" and before that "The Well Digger's Daughter."  Just two in a line of the best movies ever made.  I gave them both 5 stars on the Netflix rating system. No violence, no car chases, no special effects--just plain cinematic art at the highest level.  I also remembered the trilogy starting with Manon (?) at the Well (?).  Absolutely delicious cinematically.

In between those two movies was "Arbitrage" with Richard Gere and Susan Sarandon.  I chose it because of the actors, but what an atrocious movie!

I also just want to add that were it not for the French, we would not have beaten the British in the Rev. War.  We owe them big time.

Daniel,

France was defeated by Nazi Germany.

Obama wanted to bomb a far weaker country based on flimsy evidence, and was out maneuvered by Putin.

You really think these are comparable events? Really? Do you think we should be going to war with Syria?

Mr. Hansen, Judd Wilson is not incorrect in his statement. The French did gain that reputation during WWII. My great-grandmother has told me the story of the two wars. She was 17 during WWI, and remembered the daily reports from the French lines on the front. They fought for every inch, and died fighting.  She contrasted that to WWII, where the French pretty much gave up. They lost so many men during the previous war that they didn't have the fight left in them. My own grandfather was deported to Germany for forced labor by the French collaborating police. Not a glorious time for France. Kind of reminds me of today in the US, where the Russian president is actually putting our president to shame. I wonder what a future generation will call the US after this present Obama regime? I can already imagine the saying: "you're starting to act like an American president!" "nonono, not at all" will be the response. :)

Why?  You cc'd him.  He can pipe up if he wants to chime in on any of this nonsense.

<Is it true what Judd Wilson suggests, by his own words, about the French?>

'The French always surrender' wasn't coined by Judd Wilson so it's hardly 'his words.  It's just an oft repeated phrase.  Google it if you want more insight into it's meaning.  It's quite obvious that Judd Wilson was referring to Pete Session's comment about 'Look, we're not French.  We don't surrender' in reference to not 'giving up' and ending the government shutdown until Obamacare was defunded.  Judd Wilson is asking if 'Republicans Boehner, Bush, and Christie who always surrender' should be called 'French Republicans'.  Why is this so hard to comprehend?  It's basic logic in this instance since Pete Sessions stated in essence that 'French' is synonymous with 'surrender'.

Thank you, Mr. Dredge.

Why does this not make sense to you Tom?  Think in broader terms within context, connect the dots, and maybe it will become obvious.  To quote Tom on multiple occasions 'JEESH!'
