Yes, Sue is insightful and correct.  There is an unwritten curriculum for school aged children that involves growing up and dealing with the world and your peers. Success in the classroom and being  gifted doesn't  mean happiness, employment, and a successful life. Education and maturing go hand in hand, but they are not the same thing. College is not a suitable social environment for a child, no matter how much smarter she may be then the other students.
