[Vision2020] Say What?

I'm fine if deportation laws aren't enforced except when necessary to rid the country of interlopers. Beyond that, the main immigration reform I'd like to see is with Employment Based Green Card applications that presently enable corporations to enslave / exploit foreign nationals and easily game the system to delay Green Card issuance. Good luck with that. Employers love it because they can lock in low cost talent and they can donate some of their payroll savings to getting their other back pocket candidates elected to enact even more 'business friendly' policies.

Since these laws can no more achieve their goals than laws repealing gravity, I don't support their enforcement as a condition for reform.

Isn't it like demanding existing alcohol laws be enforced before overturning Prohibition?

Scott,

I'm one of those folks out there, and there are a lot of us -even if they're not on VIS2020, that want the current laws enforced BEFORE any talk of "reform".
The last go round of "immigration reform" was a good idea and it said basically, amnesty for those here, but no more, this is the line in the sand. Now that that amnesty has already taken place, it's time for the government to live up to the "no more" part of that promise BEFORE we get to any kind of reforms.

“It’s not going to happen this year. After the way the president acted over the last two or three weeks where he would refuse to talk to the speaker of the House, they’re not going to get immigration reform. It’s done.”
