PRESS RELEASE
2013 iCount Call for Volunteers

October 2, 2013 (Moscow, Idaho) - The City of Moscow is hosting the 3rd annual iCount event on October 10, 2013. Count times will be from 7 - 9 a.m. and from 4 - 6 p.m.

iCount is an event that focuses on collecting data about alternative transportation demographics. Data collected from the event is used for consideration in the development of plans regarding transportation and active modes of alternative transportation. Furthermore, iCount has been developed to show the community the impacts of the non-motorized transportation alternatives and how they promote active living.

The City of Moscow is looking for volunteers for the day of the count. Volunteering requires just a few hours of time with a short training session held the day before the event and the commitment to count the day of the event. Attending the training session is important to help all volunteers count in the same way and each volunteer will receive their packet of materials to count the following day.

There are two training sessions available (volunteers need to only attend one session):

* October 9th from 4 - 5 p.m. in room 201 of the physical education building (located behind the UI pool)

*        October 9th from 6 - 7 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers

Count times are:

*        October 10th from 7 - 9 a.m.

*        October 10th from 4 - 6 p.m.
