The following U.S. service members died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom combat operations in Afghanistan, confirmed by the Defense Department from September 20, 2013 through September 26, 2013:

Army Staff Sgt. Thomas A. Baysore, Jr., 31, of Milton, Pennsylvania; assigned to 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Navy Chief Warrant Officer Jonathan S. Gibson, 32, of Aurora, Oregon; assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Six at Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, California.

Navy Lt. Cmdr. Landon L. Jones, 35, of Lompoc, California; assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Six at Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, California.

Army Staff Sgt. Timothy R. McGill, 30, of Ramsey, New Jersey; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group, Middletown, Rhode Island.

Army Staff Sgt. Liam J. Nevins, 32, of Denver, Colorado; assigned to 5th Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group, Watkins, Colorado.

Army Spc. Joshua J. Strickland, 23, of Woodstock, Georgia; assigned to Group Support Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.
