Moscow, Idaho Homicide

November 10, 2013 (Moscow, Idaho) - On Sunday, November 10th, 2013 at 12:54 pm officers and deputies with the Moscow Police Department and Latah County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting call at 1751 North Polk Extension at the Bel Air Mobile Home Park. Information by the 911 caller was that her husband had been shot and was inside trailer #31 with the shooter's estranged girlfriend. Officers and deputies made contact with the two women at the entrance to the trailer park.  Officers were told by the women the shooter was outside trailer #31 waiting on the deck.  The shooter was taken into investigative custody without incident.

The victim was found inside trailer #31 with multiple gunshots to the chest.  Immediate lifesaving care was administered and he was taken to Gritman Medical Center by Moscow Volunteer Ambulance Service. The victim succumbed to his injuries at Gritman.  The victim has been identified as Charles Patrick McMichael, 42 years of age of Moscow, Idaho.

Preliminary information was that the victim was helping the estranged girlfriend change the door locks to the trailer.  When the victim, the victim's wife, and the shooter's estranged girlfriend arrived at the trailer they found the door locked.  The door was also found barricaded after it was unlocked.  The victim was able to force open the door and enter the trailer. The victim discovered the boyfriend inside and a disturbance ensued followed by shots fired.

The shooter was transported to the police station and invoked his rights after a short statement.  Nathaniel H. Nisbet, 28 years of age of Moscow, was arrested for 1st Degree Murder and has been booked into the Latah County Jail.  A search warrant has been executed and officers are currently processing the scene at the trailer.
