Megaload to pass through Moscow on Sunday night

Drivers between Lewiston and Coeur d'Alene should be prepared for delays late Sunday and early Monday morning due to an oversized load scheduled for shipment along the route.
The load will be 16 feet wide, 15.9 feet tall, 297 feet long and weighs 644,000 pounds and is the second of two shipments of water purification equipment that General Electric has been trying to get up to Canadian oil fields.
In September, a U.S. district judge issued an injunction that blocked GE from shipping large loads along the winding, two-lane roadway, U.S. Highway 12, which passes through tribal lands and a federally designated Wild and Scenic River corridor.
GE's shipment will instead enter Idaho from the Port of Wilma in Clarkston on Highway 128 and travel north, through Moscow and along U.S. Highway 95 to Coeur d'Alene, where it will turn east on I-90 heading for Montana.
The shipment is scheduled to begin moving at about 10 p.m. Sunday and to be on the interstate heading east by 6 a.m. Monday.
It will be accompanied by pilot cars and flaggers and will pull over at designated spots along the route to allow motorists to pass. The Idaho Transportation Department said drivers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes.
