A Hippie's Beliefs
I admire the work of the tree trunks and flower stems
For they provide the less appreciative with pure beauty. 
The eye of a materialistic man 
Fails to acknowledge their essential duty. 

A few simple blades of grass 
Can serve as a meal to the peaceful rabbits,
While the politicians stomach feeds on authority 
And induldge in their own shallow habits. 

I believe in a strong beating heart 
filled with the purest passion and the deepest love.
Qualities that the heart of a conservative man
Is unfortunately devoid of. 

The creatures of the ocean 
Thrive in unmatchable freedom.
A privilege of which we are forsaken
In the liberals kingdom.

I believe in a mind that dreams 
Of a world of peace and unity. 
While the man forces us to comply 
In his conformist society 

I'm disgusted by war 
But i'm still grateful for our army 
For protecting hippies like me, 
Hendrix, Dylan, and Marley.
