"Moscow, Idaho" by Rod Picott

Sidebar: i am still interested in having a local band create a city song for Moscow. I presented this idea to the city's Arts Commission. I was (and still am) willing to finance a competition with $ going to first, second, and third place.

The Arts Commission took my email address and said they would get back with me. That was more than two years ago. There are several cities across the Nifty Fifty (USA) that have their own official city song, of which they have not changed a single note since they were conceived (some of which are over one hundred years in age).

I still want to make this a reality. Contact me off-list if you are interested in pursuing this with me.

How can a city claim to be "The Heart of the Arts" and NOT have its own official city song.

Seeya 'round town, Moscow, because . . .

But first you must learn how to smile as you kill
If you want to be like the folks on the hill."
