City of Moscow Sets Outdoor Irrigation Season

May 17, 2013 (Moscow, Idaho) — Pursuant  to City Code Title 5, Chapter 17, Establishing an Outdoor Irrigation Season, the City of Moscow Public Works Director Les MacDonald has authorized the 2013 Irrigation Season for the City of Moscow to begin May 20.  This determination is made after consulting with appropriate staff and researching temperature and precipitation information.

Section 17-5 of the Code states, “Outdoor irrigation shall be allowed only between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. local time unless modified by a variance pursuant to Chapter 17.  Outdoor irrigation shall be prohibited at all times not within the declared Outdoor Irrigation Season.”  During the Irrigation Season, the City encourages residents to refrain from outdoor irrigation until precipitation and soil moisture decreases to a point that landscaping needs supplemental water.
