PRESS RELEASE
Poverty on the Palouse Forum Series Continues - Next Meeting Set for May 22

May 15, 2013 (Moscow, Idaho) - The Poverty on the Palouse forum series continues with the next event scheduled for May 22, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. in Moscow City Hall Council Chambers. The public is invited to attend.

The series was initiated by Moscow Mayor Nancy Chaney in December 2010 to increase awareness of poverty-related issues in the area and to facilitate solution-driven interaction among stakeholders. Steve Bonnar, Executive Director for Sojourners' Alliance homeless shelter, will facilitate the meeting.

Topics for discussion include Housing and Urban Development (HUD) trends and employment issues. Updates will also be provided on the Family Promise Program and Community Health Association of Spokane (CHAS) Clinic projects. Family Promises provides organizational resources for local communities to address the issues of poverty from all angles and CHAS operates eight clinics in the Inland Northwest and Lewis-Clark Valley, serving patients regardless of their ability to pay. Group dialogue on these issues and communication will also be facilitated.

For more information, please contact Mayor Nancy Chaney at 208.882.7021 or Steve Bonnar at 208.883.3438.
