Sue, the Seims house was built by Jerome Day, the founder of Day Mines in the Silver Valley. It's in a different location than the hospital shown in the photo (at the corner of A and Polk St.). Day donated an extensive book collection on Northwest History to the UI Library. Here's a photo of the Day Mansion:

This is Willy Seims house, I’m sure.  They sold it a few years ago to,.....trying to remember the name.  Oh well, someone will know.  Anyway it’s still a very nice place.

Well! I was 100% wrong...

The structure housing Carither's Hospital still exists [2011], standing at the southwest corner of Jackson Street and First Street. Carither's Hospital, operated by Warner H. Carither, was also known as the Inland Empire Hospital and began operating in the structure around 1908. Other organizations that operated in this structure included the Moscow Businessmen's Club and the Elk's Club (circa 1896).
