PRESS RELEASE
Aggressive Driving Enforcement Patrols Scheduled

July 15, 2013 (Moscow, Idaho) - The Moscow Police Department, in conjunction with agencies throughout the state, is focusing their effort to target aggressive drivers. The emphasis patrols will take place from July 19 through August 4, 2013. According to the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) statistics, aggressive driving is a contributing factor in 49% of all crashes in Idaho.

The number one contributing aggressive driving factor for fatal and serious injury crashes was speed. Speeding continues to be a major factor in approximately one-third of traffic deaths every year across the nation. Aggressive driving represents a risk to everyone on Idaho roadways. The goal of the emphasis patrols is to have no more traffic fatalities on Idaho roadways.

This summer while traveling please consider the risks to yourself, your loved ones, and to other motorists. Set an example for others to follow by being responsible, courteous and considerate.

Drive safe, drive sober, buckle up and continue to have a safe summer.
