The following U.S. service members died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom combat operations in Afghanistan, confirmed by the Defense Department from January 18, 2013 through January 24, 2013:
 
Army Sgt. Mark H. Schoonhoven, 38, of Plainwell, Michigan; assigned to the 32nd Transportation Company, 43rd Sustainment Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado.
