[Vision2020] Key Player in Citadel Project is a Convicted Felon

REPORTS EMERGE KEY PLAYER IN CITADEL PROJECT A CONVICTED FELON

There has been no shortage of interest in the proposal to build a walled community in the Benewah Valley. 
Direct information from the group, however, has been more difficult to come by.
The Citadel Project has received extensive coverage since it was first reported in this newspaper, Dec. 12. In addition to daily newspaper coverage, the Associated Press carried a story about the proposed city that would be built behind a large wall, much like a medieval castle. Last week, the community was the topic of a joke on The Colbert Report, a popular national television program on Comedy Central. The comedy spoof was followed by coverage on The Drudge Report, which linked to a report about the armed community. 
The web site and a forum operated by supporters of the endeavor are active, but efforts to talk directly to proponents of the project have been unsuccessful. 
Now reports are swirling that a key player in the project is a convicted felon. 
Our newspaper has been in contact with the Southern Poverty Law Center and has learned that it’s possible one of the major individuals involved is a three-time convicted felon.
