I admit I chuckled at the area code price.

It will never come to fruition. A bunch of people will be bilked out of $208.00, while the "organizer" nets a nifty profit.

I guess I don't get the Citadel hate on this forum. It's basically a gated community for firearms geeks who want to provide themselves a higher level of defense. It's an interesting idea, and I hope it works for them.

It's their land, their rights, their time and sweat and labor. More power to them. It's an experiment, and I'm interested in how it turns out.

  III Citadel
  Our Community:
The Citadel project has been an amazing experience. The community we have created in a very short time is incredible. A group of dedicated volunteers, working together on a project we truly believe in. Creating the future that we want instead of waiting around for the future to just happen to us.

When I first heard about the idea, I was hooked. It's the type of thing that I might daydream about but not ever consider as a real possibility. Even something as modest as the idea James Rawles had in his book "Patriots", a small group of friends buying property together in northern Idaho was more than I could hope to achieve.

As I look at the comments, the thing that really jumps out at me is the number of people who think this isn't just a good idea or an interesting idea but a life changing idea.

  III Citadel Blog: Our Community
  iiicitadel.blogspot.com
The Citadel is a developing community of Patriots in the mountains of Idaho who believe in Jefferson's Rightful Liberty and have chosen to live amongst one another, and have sworn our lives, our fortunes and our Sacred Honor to defend one another and Liberty.

I am the original poster of this topic. I never called it a hate group. I called them survivalists. I think Roger Hayes changed the subject to a hate tagline. What say you, Roger?

    How's this for "freedom""

My father was a POW in Stalag Luft IIIA during the last year and a half of WW2. I am convinced that he experienced less isolation than the freedom-loving residents of the Citadel.

Anyone heard of this groups plans for building a walled community in
Benewah county? They claim to have already purchased twenty acres on top of
a mountain, with a goal of 3000 more.

They call themselves The Citadel, claim to be practicing Thomas Jefferson's
    "Rightful Liberty."
