I've been running AdBlock+ and NoScript for years, so this won't affect me. I recommend both those extensions. I'm also looking into ghostery.
Since ad networks can be providers of malware, I block most of them on the net. It really speeds up your browsing, too.

Beware "upgrading" to Mozilla Firefox 23.0.
User interface changes to Firefox 23.0 from 22.0 have removed from Content | Options check boxes which, when unchecked, disable JavaScript and the ability to load images automatically. It may be the case that other interfaces to enable/disable these functions are available, but they will require more concentrated attention to use and maintain them.
