I don't know Wayne, it's not like we're paying them any rent for living on their land...

Your remarks, while they may be valid, still doesn't answer the question of how much money the tribe and the forest service contributes to the design (read that as upgrades) and maintenanceof US 12.
If the State of Idaho is footing the bill, then the state makes the rules. IF the tribe and the forest service makes the rules, then they should pay for the cost of that highway, and the state shouldno longer pay for it, nor maintain it. It can become a tribal / forest service highway, and the tribe and forest service can make the rules and pay for the road.
OK?

The Nez Perce signed a treaty with the US federal government 150 (ONE HUNDRED FIFTY) years ago that defined the boundaries of the Nez Perce reservation (long before US12 was installed).

A portion of US12 is located on the Nez Perce reservation. An an agreement (again, that dang treaty) requires Nez Perce Tribal Council approval BEFORE such items as the megaload can proceed onto tribal land.

Ok?

OK, I think I have a grasp of the issues involving US 12 and the "megaloads".

Now, my question is, if anyone knows, is how much money does the tribe and the US Forest Service kick in for the design and maintenance specifically of US 12, that they should have
"veto" power over the state for what travels on a state highway?
