Hi Paul,

Without further research I would assume that even then the Revolutionary
militia was "well-regulated," i.e., not everyone had access to the weapons,
which were safely stored, as our weapons today should be if we had
common-sense gun legislation.

I agree with Tom and all historians who obviously point to the fact that it
was primarily and fundamentally an issue about taxation.
