PRESS RELEASE
Community Input for Transportation Plan Requested

September 25, 2012 (Moscow, Idaho) - The City of Moscow and is hosting Moscow on the Move - Multimodal Transportation Plan drop-in workshops on October 9 and 10, 2012 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. both days at One World Café, downtown Moscow, Idaho at 533 South Main Street. Moscow on the Move, the City of Moscow's long range multi-modal transportation plan initiated in April 2012, will establish a twenty-year strategy that prioritizes short- and long-term improvements to the pedestrian and bicycle environment, local transit service, and the citywide roadway network.

As Moscow on the Move is developed, the City of Moscow needs your help identifying transportation projects that are needed throughout the city. This interactive two-day workshop is intended to educate community members about existing transportation conditions and gather input on the Plan's direction and specific transportation improvements that should be included in the Plan. This workshop is designed for to allow participants to stay as long as they would like, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, an hour, or more and provides the convenience of attending on one of two days.

The workshop will offer various informative stations highlighting the plan's process, existing mobility-related conditions in Moscow, and best practices seen in similar university towns. Community members can also make their mark on the Plan by participating in an interactive mapping exercise designed to allow community members to specify transportation improvements that should be included in the Plan. All ideas are welcome!

For more information about participating in the workshop, to view the recently released Transportation Fact Book, or to learn more about Moscow on the Move, visit the project website at http://www.ci.moscow.id.us/projects/moscowonthemove/ or visit the official Moscow on the Move Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/moscowonthemove.
